If You Can't Say Something Nice . . . . .
I participated today with Brian Tracy's The Power of Charm Teleseminar. It was a breath of fresh air in a world gone socially awry over the past several decades. Gentility, kindness, good manners, sincerity, edification, active listening, all Golden Rule ideas my mom taught me, and probably a lot of other mothers did to their children as well, were all dusted off and given a powerful role in today's success in business. What a relief.
It was reassuring to hear that being a nice person can contribute to business success. This seminar took a lot of the pressure off me. It is OK to listen carefully, find a need from a potential customer, and have a dialogue to discuss filling that need.
When I moved to a "sales" career with my direct sales, online business, "sales" was a bad word. I study my products, know them well, use them and am excited to share their benefits with others. However, finding that most of my job was listening and not talking and persuading was a revelation.
I am happy and ready to try my new and improved approach. I still have the best products for home, health and self and now I have added a new tool to share them considerately with others.
