Use White-listing to Make Sure You Get Your Newsletters
One vital thing you can do that helps no matter what e-mail system you're using
is this: add the address newsletter@briantracyintl.com to your address
book.
Unsolicited, unwanted advertising e-mail, commonly known as "spam", has become
a big problem. It's reached such proportions that most e-mail services and
Internet Service Providers (ISPs) have put some sort of blocking or filtering
system in place or begun relying on self-proclaimed blacklists to tell the good
guys from the bad.
We at briantracyintl.com applaud their intention to protect you from spam, but
everyone agrees that the current systems for stopping spam are far from a
perfect solution. They often block e-mail that you've requested, but that fits
somebody's idea of what spam looks like. The more responsible anti-spam
activists are working hard to cut down on these "false positives", but in the
mean time, you might unexpectedly find you're not getting your newsletters...
As it happens, there's something you can do to keep your newsletters and
support emails from falling into the false positive trap. You can fight the
blacklists with a "white-list". White-list us now, before your delivery is
interrupted.
Of course, every e-mail system is different. Below are instructions for some of
the more popular ones. If yours isn't here, please contact your ISP's customer
service folks for their instructions. (Forward the answer to us, and we might
add it!)

Others
Many popular e-mail programs, including
Outlook, Outlook Express, Eudora,
and
Netscape Mail, don't provide a convenient way for you to
white-list the folks you want to receive e-mail from. If you're using this sort
of e-mail system and you either aren't getting your newsletters or want to make
sure you continue to receive your newsletters in the future, you can do
something about it.
Contact the customer service people or the Postmaster at the company that
provides your e-mail or Internet connection (your ISP). Explain to them that
newsletters from briantracyintl.com are e-mails that you asked for and value.
Ask them if they can white-list the newsletters that you get from
briantracyintl.com. They'll probably ask you for some information about us.
Here's what to tell them:
-
Sending Address: If they ask for our address, give them the
address in the "From" line of your most recent briantracyintl.com newsletter.
-
Domain: If they need to know the domain we're mailing from,
tell them this:
@briantracyintl.com
-
IP Address: If they ask for our sending IP address, tell them all
of these:
69.43.178.58
Thank you for white-listing Brian Tracy newsletters.
It's a shame to bother you like this, but in this day and age,
we feel like the dolphin caught in the tuna-spam net. We fully support the
anti-spam motivations of all mail servers and ISPs.
But some are simply unfair to bona fide, honest marketers. For example SpamCop,
can blacklist a marketing company simply because someone complains about them.
Since the company does not even receive the common courtesy of receiving the
e-mail address of the complainant from SpamCop, they cannot even check to see
if that address has been subscribed to their newsletter list (people do forget
they subscribed... often).
It's unfair to the dolphins, but that's the way it is, unfortunately. Net
result? Tens of thousands of e-mails can be blocked because of an unfair,
abusive complaint that cannot be verified, and for which there is no recourse
at SpamCop who have made themselves virtually inaccessible.
So please do make sure that your mail server or ISP is not accidentally keeping
briantracyintl.com information from you.
Sorry for the inconvenience, but these circumstances are beyond our control.
All you and we can do is work together with the ISPs to shut out the spammers.
Thank You from Brian Tracy Customer Support.
