Practice the 7 Sales Training Tips of Sales Success

There are many sales techniques, tips, and principles of sales training and success. They are practiced by all of the highest paid salespeople every day. The regular application of these principles is virtually guaranteed to move you to the top of your field.
Sales Training Tip # 1:
Get serious! Make a decision to go all the way to the top of your field. Make a today decision to join the top 10%. There is no one and nothing that can hold you back from being the best except yourself.
Sales Training Tip # 2:
Identify your limiting skill to sales success. Identify your weakest single skill and make a plan to become absolutely excellent in that area. Ask yourself, and your boss, “What one skill, if I developed and did it consistently in an excellent fashion, would have the greatest positive impact on my sales?” Whatever your answer to this question, write it down, set a deadline, make a plan, and then work on it every day.

Sales Training Tip # 3:
Get around the right people. Get around positive, successful people. Associate with men and women who are going somewhere with their lives. And get away from negative, critical, complaining people. Remember, you cannot fly with the eagles if you continue to scratch with the turkeys.
Sales Training Tip # 4:
Take excellent care of your physical health. You need high levels of energy to sell effectively, and to bounce back from continual rejection and discouragement. Be sure to eat the right foods, get the right amount of exercise and get plenty of rest and recreation.
Sales Training Tip # 5:
Visualize yourself as one of the top people in your field. Imagine yourself performing at your best all day long. Feed your subconscious mind with sales education. Imagine vivid, exciting, emotionalized pictures of yourself as positive, confident, competent and completely in control of every part of your life.
Sales Training Tip # 6:
Practice positive self-talk continually. Control your inner dialogue. Talk to yourself the way you want to be rather than the way you might be today.
Sales Training Tip # 7:
Take positive action toward your goals, every single day. Be proactive rather than reactive. Grab the bull by the horns. If you are not happy with your income, get out there and get face to face with more customers.
All successful salespeople are intensely action oriented. They have a sense of urgency. They develop a bias for action. They do it now! They have a compulsion to closure. They maintain a fast tempo and move quickly in everything they do. These are some of the best sales practices a person can implement.
And the good news is this. The faster you move, the more energy you have, the more ground you cover, the more people you see. The more people you see, the more experience you get. The more experience you get, the more sales you make.
The faster you move, the more you take complete control of your entire life and virtually guarantee that you will be one of the top performers and the highest paid people in your field.

Very well put. In fact many a times sales people get so caught up in what he/she wants to sell that they discard hearing the customer out.
We feel that aggressively talking about the features of a product will awe the customer and leads to a sale. This DOES NOT work. I have been selling subscriptions for a website and all the sales I have made is because I connected with the customer at a personal level, understood his/her needs and did not sell them a dream. In fact, I came across this program which unlike a lot many cliched sales training programs talks about “Sales Effectiveness” and just not “Sales” – http://www.business-salt.com/miller-heiman-india.html
The bottom line is that people buy things from you because they like you, you speak the truth, you understand them and are sensitive to what they are looking for, not because you got a great spiel.

An added important part is that if you are a mature person, travel insurance for pensioners is something that is important to really look at. The sales problem is simple. Most sales people and sales trainers are not aware of the different skill set required when making major sales. There is a huge difference between making that simple sale and making a sale that requires many interviews and meetings.
Most of the old training methods are no longer viable in today’s selling world. It is time all Sales Training people got to understand this. Research done in the late 1970′s have proven this, yet we still keep flogging the age old sales books with the old techniques.
Selling an aircraft has a different skill set than selling the gas to run it!
