In military terms, the more that the commander knows about the opposition forces, their numbers and deployments, the better able he is to plan the strategy necessary to defeat them.
In business, the more you know and understand about your competitors and your marketplace, the more successful you will be.
The more time you take to thoroughly understand your marketplace, your main competitors, and their most attractive product offerings, the more insights you will gain, which will enable you to take the actions necessary to make sales in a tough marketplace.
Working closely with your leadership team, create a competitive analysis grid comparing yourself and your products or services to each of your main competitors.
